Going through the motions…October 22, 2009
Today marks my one year of running my business full time. You must know that this was not how I had planned it to be right now. I actually thought it would be another five years before I got here. But as John Lennon was quoted “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making plans.” So true. Throughout this past year I have had to rediscover who I was not only as a photographer but personally. A year later I am still putting some things together but over all I know what I want. I want a life of love, laughter & happiness. I once spent hours even days wondering what I had done wrong to deserve what was being given to me, now I sit here thanking for what I have been given. I wake up every day thinking I am so blessed to be able to do something I love for the rest of my life. I know we all take things in life for granted & I have been trying very hard not to.
This year has had its ups & down & I am nowhere close to being perfect. I have had to learn a lot very quickly about owning my own business. Just ask some of my clients, they have learned them with me some good & some bad. But they have believed in me all along & I thank each & every one of you for standing by me. I know I have fallen behind but I promise you this, you will not be disappointed. I hate letting people down, please have faith & trust in me.
To Adam who believed in me from the beginning. To my family for reminding me to stay strong & to my true friends who stood by me, showing me what friendship is really all about. Thank you.
A special thank you to my mother, Judy, for allowing me to lean on her through the good & bad days. Knowing she was just a call away & telling me this over & over again …”Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference…” made all the difference. Thank you.
I met some truly amazing people over the past year in their own way they have helped me heal & become a better person. I say thank you to each & everyone one of you.
I cannot wait to see what the future brings – the people I will meet & the places I will go…
