My 11th Annual Gaentine’s Day Brunch was Monarch Butterfly themed. I have a few reasons for choosing this theme. One sees a monarch as a sign of reassurance that something better or brighter is ahead, and I have a longing to see one after last year (and the start to this year), so why not surround myself with them while also surrounding myself with a group of strong women? Smart idea, yes. 19 ladies showed up with smiles on their faces, and it was the perfect way to get out of our own heads for the afternoon.

Here are some common symbolic meanings behind a monarch butterfly:
Hope & New Beginnings – Seeing a monarch can feel like a reassuring sign that something better or brighter lies ahead.
Endurance & Strength – Monarchs migrate thousands of miles, symbolizing resilience, perseverance, and inner stamina.
Freedom & Independence – Their ability to travel vast distances and float effortlessly through the air connects them with personal freedom and living authentically.
Spiritual Messengers – Many cultures believe butterflies, especially monarchs, represent loved ones who have passed, visiting or watching over you.
Beauty in Change – A reminder that transitions, even difficult ones, can lead to something beautiful.
Cycle of Life – Monarchs often symbolize life, death, and renewal, acknowledging that endings are also beginnings.
Guidance & Direction – Because of their precise migration paths, they can represent trusting your inner compass or intuition.
I can’t wait to see what I come up with next year!!
Much love, Miranda
